Preface: Highway Driving

Often, when I was younger I would be sitting in the back seat in our '93 Ford Station Wagon with my cheek pressed against the window staring out at the cars that we passed on the highway. As I stared at the drivers passing by I would often wish I could follow them home. It wasn't that I so loathed my own life, I was simply curious to know what kind of life each driver on I-94 was living. Was that tattooed man with a handle bar mustache picking his daughter up from ballet? Was the large woman in the large Mercedes off to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting? These were just a few of the questions that bounced around in my ten-year-old brain.

So, when I discovered the "next blog" button while skimming through my cousins blog I found myself living out my childhood fantasy. I was, in a way, following people home. Not to sound like a total creeper, but I really enjoy peering into the lives of strangers. It's thrilling. I soon found myself entering the lives of a complete hippy mother homeschooling her children, a 'Nam vet with a porn addiction, and countless cutesy scrap-booking LDS mothers. I was able to do ALL this without any of the real life risks of getting into strangers cars. What a dream come true!

Then, some how, after a series of clicks, I created my own blog. After all the mocking I did here I am, writing down my observations and thoughts, becoming yet another car for strangers to peer into. In fact, my plan is not to tell any one that I've started this blog.
